Dr. Berger and his wife, Chrysanthi, have dedicated their lives to a variety of causes, including those listed below. They work collaboratively and commit their time to the organizations and causes that have had an impact on their life and the lives of their loved ones.
Dr. Berger’s philanthropic and voluntary activities include:
- Currently serving as a Trustee of The Cameron Boyce Foundation whose mission is to cure epilepsy. Joined in 2020
- Currently serving as a Governing Trustee on the Board of Trustees of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, a cancer hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School. Dr. Berger also serves as a member of the Trustee Science Committee. Joined in 2018
- Currently serving on the Board of Trustees of Concord Academy. Joined in 2000, completed first term in 2005 and rejoined in 2018
- Served on the Dean’s Council of the Yale School of Medicine, New Haven, CT from 2011 – 2017
- Served on the Board of Trustees of The Trevor School, New York, NY from 2011 – 2013
- Served on the Board of Trustees of Kingsley Montessori School , Boston, MA from 2008 – 2010
- Served on the Board of Associates of the The Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research from 1997 – 2008
- Served on the Board of Trustees of The Fenn School from 1993-2000
- Served as a Member of the Advisory Committee of the Massachusetts Emerging Technology Fund and The Massachusetts Government Land Bank, The Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 1993-1998
